Mykey is a class clown type of dog. When he was a pup, a squirrel chucked a pine cone at him. Since he was too little to catch the squirrel, he decided chewing the tree down was the most prudent method of attack. It took over a year, but he successfully chopped down that tree at New Year's eve 2021. No one is sure what happened to the squirrel, but the picnic table did not survive the fall.
Life in the yard is all about play and goofing around with our guardian dog, Phoebe, and his puppies but when it's time to work, he's all business.
With a natural outrun and what I call a "calm eye", he has been the easiest dog I have ever trained. He's a thinking dog. He grips when needed, but prefers to keep his stock settled and without too much chaos.
This year (2022) we plan to return to the competitive stock dog trials after a 20 year hiatus, competing in the Novice-Novice division.
Mykel is available for stud services to other stock dog breeds.
